Transformations provides meaningful information and guidance to enrich the quality of our journey through life. Our programs empower people to make choices about living and dying, care-giving and care-receiving, that are personal, compassionate and informed.

All of our trainings are offered in a variety of formats, including private sessions with families and/or support groups. CEUs available.

•HOME CARE GUIDES trains all levels of caregivers who work in the home in any capacity.

•BEING WITH DYING offers training in spiritual care of the dying. By encouraging us to face our own mortality, we can explore and deepen our relationship to living and dying. J.Redwing Keyssar RN, founder/director of TRANSFORMATIONS, is available as a consultant/midwife to the dying, to be at the bedside of people who are dying, and to assist people and their families/friends through the dying process.

In our culture, birth is greeted with joy and celebration. Most people still experience death with fear and confusion, under circumstances that often feel impersonal and undignified. Most of us have not been encouraged to view death as part of the mysterious cycle of life, or to face our own mortality with compassion or grace.

Preparing for our time of death can empower us to live each moment more fully and wisely. Our thought-full preparations allow our loved ones to understand and respect our wishes, and to honor the stories of our lives, with love and compassion.

TRANSFORMATIONS is a program of Educational Explorations, a non-profit 501(c) (3) organization.We survive through donations, which are tax-deductible, and always appreciated. Our 2002-2003 programs have been partially funded by a Tobacco Settlement Revenue Grant and a generous grant from the California Endowment.
