HOME CARE GUIDES "If we want to improve life for everybody in our society, one of the very best places to begin is to change how we think about, care for, and honor our elders."
(Dr. William Thomas, founder of The Eden Alternative)

Caregiver Training Programs

• Home Care Guides trains family, community and career caregivers to be competent, confident, and compassionate, in their service to care-receivers and in their care of themselves.

•We offer 6 week/36 hour comprehensive caregiving courses. We also do TRAIN THE TRAINER sessions for communities who wish to offer these courses.

• Participants in Home Care Guides learn practical healthcare skills for helping people with acute and chronic illness and assisting with end-of-life care. We also cover how to access community resources and set up support networks.

• Our innovative approach integrates self-assessment tools and communication and problem-solving skills throughout the curriculum, in order to emphasize understanding, honoring and caring for the whole person.
